Administrative Jurisdiction

Khammam Forest District is administratively divided into designated forest ranges to ensure effective forest protection, conservation management, and field-level governance.

 

Each range operates under the supervision of a Range Forest Officer (RFO) and functions within defined territorial limits, covering reserved forests, protected areas, and forest-fringe villages.

Forest Ranges Under Khammam Forest District

Khammam Range

Responsible for implementation of forest protection, plantation programmes, and monitoring activities within Khammam jurisdiction.

Sathupally Range

Oversees conservation programmes and forest governance activities within Sathupally region.

Madhira Range

Implements protection measures, afforestation initiatives, and wildlife monitoring within Madhira area.

Kusumanchi Range

Ensures enforcement of forest laws and sustainable forest management within Kusumanchi limits.

Karepally Range

Manages notified forest lands and supports ecological restoration efforts in Karepally region.

Tallada Range

Conducts plantation drives, forest protection patrols, and community coordination activities within Tallada jurisdiction.

District Task Force

Carries out enforcement drives, anti-smuggling operations, and special forest protection activities across the district.

Land & Survey Wing – Sathupally

Handles forest boundary demarcation, land survey operations, and forest land records.

Range-Level Responsibilities

Each forest range is responsible for:

  • Protection of forest lands from encroachment

  • Prevention of illegal felling and wildlife offenses

  • Forest fire monitoring and response

  • Implementation of afforestation programmes

  • Wildlife habitat monitoring

  • Community coordination and awareness
